INFORMATION TALKS AND TRAINING COURSES

There is a need to develop social awareness about what exactly high intellectual capacities are and what they represent and to enhance training amongst professionals in education in this respect. We provide explanatory talks for the general public and parent’s associations as well as offer general or specific training courses on theoretical and/or concrete areas to the teaching profession or to others dealing with children. You can request a costing for your general or specific training needs for the academic community or for other levels of child-related professions or activities. CREATIVITY

Professional advancement, both theoretical and practical, through the daily experience with minors who are gifted with intellectual skills, has given rise to doubts about the explanation by psychologists over the last 100 years that such giftedness lies in the intelligence quotient (IQ), but that there exists a correlation with other components and skills about which much less information and understanding are available, creativity being one of these. In collaboration with other bodies and professionals, we have agreed on an initiative in this line of research, through a comprehensive project, in order to tackle both intra- and inter-personal aspects.

We wish not to ignore observation that would lead us to a gathering of data that facilitates the enhancement of methodology, the means and possibilities afforded to both those of us who are professionally involved in these tasks and to the users of the service itself; all this from a construct focused both on the person and on the individual body, as well as on a systemic and structuralist model the goal of which is the explanation and the knowledge of the facts in order to achieve this objective. This is within the context of a society which is demanding increasingly greater levels of excellence, and which we recognise are complicated to achieve if we do not gain access to them through suitable keys and strategies. While this is something we can see on the horizon, our targets are more modest. So, without losing sight of this ambition of the overall enhancement and the constant seeking of excellence, we plan to act by means of individual and group intervention. Creativity is achieving undisputed social recognition but, at the same time, divergent or creative thinking is habitually rejected, even to the point of being considered a pathology, a dysfunction and, at best, an inconvenience which is even, on occasions, medicated. We are not going to fall into the trap and simplicity of idealising a complex situation, but data and reflections from various teams and persons in different parts of the world appear to point to discriminatory treatment, poor detection and, in consequence, incomprehension as regards manifesting a model of thinking which we are transforming socially from a quality into a problem. The absence of evaluation and recognition makes it difficult to apply a suitable working method, which is why the actions usually embarked upon may be unjust and unsuitable for developing creativity in persons gifted with divergent thinking and it is in this concrete field that we are beginning to focus our efforts. This is the spirit of the project, a project which fills us with enthusiasm at this time and about which we will keep you informed regularly.

Drawing solid conclusions about creativity will take us to the issue that historically and personally has sparked most interest amongst the scientific community: knowing what conditions or intervening factors come together for some persons to generate certain production. This is why we will shortly focus on the topic that we are going to call: PRODUCTION.
